If you had both of these Mnandis (Box Elder and Jigged Rosewood), and you could keep only one, which one would you pick?
(Assume both are 100% BNIB)

Although the pattern of box elder is really nice, the wood lacks enough contrast for it to show up well. It could just be the picture, in which case I'd choose the box elder. If not, it seems a little boring to me, just a little too plain with the silver and gold/yellow together.

The jigged rosewood gives the knife an overall two-tone appearance that makes the box elder look monotonously light in comparison. If the pictures are true to the real-life appearance, I'd keep the jigged rosewood.
 
Interesting point, kreole. The pix are pretty much spot on, except for the fact that the sunlight was coming directly in my window when the pix were taken, which caused the box elder took a bit brighter than it is. The sun didn't have any effect on the jigged rosewood.

Yes, sir! I figured since I took the pix, I might as well share them.

And I still can't decide which I like better (but it looks like the BF folks are leaning jigged rosewood, eh?). . . .
 
The feel of the scale is really important to me. I have never had a Mnandi in my hand, but it looks like the jigged rosewood would be grippier, and therefore, more to my liking. All this to say, I vote for the jigged rosewood.

Oh, wait..This isn't a give-away and you plan on selling the other one? Definitely keep the jigged rosewood!! :D

A nice giveaway that would be! Actually, I took the pix today anticipating a possible trade of one of them. Then I started thinking about which one I would keep if the choice was mine to make, and I couldn't make up my mind. So I thought I'd put the question out there.

I'll check back in tomorrow, but I don't see the box elder making a comeback. . . .
