Yep I got her cheap, found her at a yard sale for 5 bucks, and she is even variable speed....:D  :D .....

Now all I have to do is modify it to accept a wheel then make a attachment arm to add a ideler wheel and I have a 2X72 for next to nothing. She can be used even when the power is out.Now just to convince the kids that it is fun to turn that handle while Dad is showering them with sparks, good thing I have 2 kids one can crank while the other is resting.Guess I will have to try and rig a motor on her for when the kids are at school or learn how to grind with one hand :D ....

Actually I picked her up to add her to my other antique tools around the shop, reminds me of my younger days sitting in my Grandpa's shop sharpening nails for him on one of these type grinders, heck I even had a small version on my own bench in Dad's shop....Nice to remenice sometimes...

Its as old as me, Bruce: Boy for $ 5.00 that way a hell of a deal. You did good on that one. A+-------------

Hey, Bruce! That's cool. Thought you might like to see its baby brother. That's a 4" wheel. Purrs like a kitten.

Fitzo, that one is sweet also.It looks like the one I had when I was a kid,at least it is in better shape than the one I picked up.Thanks for sharing.

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee:
"That thing ain't no grinder...
This is a grinder !"

This sits next to the front door of the house. At Christmas I have a Santa I replace the bumpkin with.

BTW: Only a noobie grinds one handed!
