Picked up a 110 slim pro

I've carried it a few days and it hadn't darkened any, let Dad carry it a couple days to see what his thought was, he liked it but preffered the look of the maroon paperstone 112 I got him years ago.
So I decided to put it on the buffing wheel, without any previous sanding, so its still textured but brought out the brown nicely.Buck 110 slim pro brown (4).jpg Buck 110 slim pro brown (5).jpg Buck 110 slim pro brown (6).jpg

That’s a great idea on the mini finger groove mod. I too love the 112 slim i got. Its the 420hc with lime yellow/lemon green plastic scales. I find the deployment to be sometimes good sometimes not. Will look to perform the same mod on my cheaper model. Thanks
Daven

I like that!
So, after years of carry, I'm thinking mine will smooth out and be even more green......look even better in time.

Old house built in the 30's that i just finished a complete rebuild/remodel of to include using some of the old wood for a ladder to the loft and the mantle. They liked it very well and wanted to rebuild the old dining table, keeping the top and build new base with X style similar to picnic table. While i was designing it the W popped into my head as his last name starts with W. Shoewd them sketch and they liked it better than the x.

It locks tight and no play anywhere open or closed, blade is centered and deploys easier than I expected. Fantastic job Buck ! I got another 055 along with the order cause the price was 20% off on both. Then I wanted the brown to be deeper and darker so I used some leather polish to bring it out in the picture below this post.

Thanks jb, i delivered it this morning , got apic prior to putting the top on and then forgot to get one with the top.
Mak looks good I was thinking about a single groove but thought i'd start with this.

I got my 110 pro yesterday my first Buck in 30 plus years. My parents moved out of their home early this year and my mom gave me a box of my stuff and there was my 110 from 1983ish in that box. I sent it to Buck it was in poor shape. After playing with it for a few days I hit up the Buck forum and ordered a 110 pro. For the last 15 plus years I’ve carried customs, Microtech, Chris Reeve or other high end knife.

First impression very nice for the price no play in any direction lock up is solid. It’s very pocket friendly light and slim. Sharp as shit very good at opening packages and boxes at work. I can open it one handed, closing is a little tough one handed but getting there.

The only thing with the knife is the clip it sits past the handle. And the one thing with Buck the 6-9 day shipping turned into 12.

If you just received your knife the delay may of been caused by a week long factory sale. It was a crazy 5 days.

Here is a picture of my new 110 I didn’t take any of my old 110 before I sent it in sorry. Yep I’m a lefty and the reversible clip was a major reason I ordered it.

After carrying my 110 slim pro for a week I do like it except it seems almost to slim when I’m using it. It carries nice in the pocket and hardly notice it’s there. I’m wondering if I can add some 1/16 inch thick contoured scales to the sides to give it a bit fuller grip or something. I’m really wanting this to be in my work knife rotation along with my Vantage Pro 20cv as it is an excellent work knife it’s just sometimes I need the clip point and length of the 110 blade profile. Maybe I’ll come up with something or get used to the slimness.

Ive been carrying one for about 3 days now, in place of my 486 which i have grown extremely fond of.
The thumb stud on the 486 works great, so i am contemplating a single finger groove on the slim pro to ease access to the thumb stud.
In fondling the knives the other day I happened to notice that the 110 slim pro is slightly wider than the 110 at the front "bolster" so this allows shaping it like the 112 ranger, so I took to it this morning. Layed a piece of masking tape on the 112 and cut it out (the only advantage I have found for square edges) then layed it onto the 110 slim pro.
It is now very easy to hit the thumb stud, and little chance of sliding hand onto blade (even more important).

WE have recently changed the position of the thumb stud. Models shipping now should have the new thumbstud position.

Your talking new position on the 110 and 112 or just the 110? And is there any way to tell it has the new position by model number or anything or u just have to look at it?
