What's the purpose of the big bar coming out the tooling arm slot?
Cool to see his approach to tracking adjustment.

question for brett.

do you thread the end of the bent handle? if so, how do you time the threads do that everything locks up in the final position that you want? Maybe the handle is female threaded and you come through the other side with a screw to lock it all up. Thanks
 
bent handle is timed with a set screw coming from the top bar,
the handle has a machined/drill indentation to accept the set screw
running to a dentist appt otherwise I'd shoot u a pic

I knew it would be easier than timing 2 threads. nice design.
 
If you don't mind me asking how much extra are we talking for the horizontal option? And does the work rest have the ability to be set up to be perpendicular to a contact wheel when horizontal?

my work rest hasn't come in yet, should be here this week so I'm not certain

assembled on a stand our shop had in stock, casters in stock and top board in stock. The board isn't as sturdy as I wanted but it was available
I couldn't put the VFD mount on as i didn't allow enough room on the benchtop so I'll have to arrange something else.
