Why do you feel this way?

I would guess he either scratched the polished part of the hollow grind or is sick of seeing the finger prints on it every time he opens the knife? That is the only reason I can think of. Unless he just doesn't want to scratch the wood up. I use my wood inlaid sebenzas and love them. Now I don't go cutting through sand paper and all that crap, but for every day use and woods use they are fine. If you are a carpenter or in line of business where you really do beat the crap out of knives.. then I would much rather have a plain jane model. They can be restored easily without sending them in.

I just feel like the stone washed micarta is a little less flashy, and there is the whole finger print thing.
