Picked up my CRKT M-16 last night......

Pedder2226,

I got mine (CRKT M16-04) this spring and I really like it. It was my first quality folder. As you have described, the flick is quite positive and easy, once it's practiced a bit. It's also addictive.

Mine was also extremey sharp out of the box. The lock functions perfectly and the looks of this knife are stunning. I really enjoy sharpening any knife in AUS-8 steel as they seem to take such a wickedly sharp edge. This one is no exception.

Enjoy your knife. I know I sure am.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

Sorry but the real ones are still with me, and working!

I have some knives i would not testify this, but i will bet my fingers on the liner of my M16!

(I do not have more then 10 fingers so this is not a joke!)

BTW: it is not a inlay but a replacement of the whole Zytel grip.

@ pedder2226:
sorry i have to insist to my friend about this,
the only comment he gave to me about the work was like:
>>easy with the wood, but the bl**** blade needed 5 hours of hand polishing! I´ll never do such a trade with you!<<
And this from a man who`s job-training is only metalwork, not woodcarving!
I`m glad i had this (another story) trade with him.

Wow, lots of work:)

Maybe one lonely day when I get bored I'll break out the sandpaper.

I think a polished, mirror blade and polished, mirror holes through the black zytel would look SO kickass. Maybe one day:)

I have an M16-13Z, and it was my first real knife. It is the only knife that I really abuse. It still locks up solidly, and has never failed, even when I was using it to cut some real thick roots, and it I had to torque my wrist several times to get it out. my only gripe is the AUS-6 blade. If I could have one with ATS-34 or something on that level I would have the perfect user.

I also have the M16-04, along with several other CRKT knives.

Love them all, except that all of them but my Lightfoot Urban Shark
tend to blade rust after a few days of waistband carry.

Anyone have a suggestion for this? I have used White Lightning and Rem Oil both to no effect.
