Picked up my first Buck knife (ever) from a pawn shop last night

Actually, picked up a Buck 110 as my 9 year old's first knife. I thought I'd get him a SAK, but decided to go w/a locking blade. Of course, the wife may change her mind once she sees the blade. Not that it is huge, she just may want something different.

It isn't brand new looking or anything, but I didn't pay too much for it either, based upon an eBay completed listings search.

Once I get it cleaned up, I'll post a pic or two.

Here are the pix:

You found a good 110 there. It looks in great shape. It is probably a 1972-74 edition. The blade is full.
If that is the price, my hat is off to you!!

I offered $25, she said $26. $28 and change out the door with tax.

Thank you!

Outstanding bargain on a terrific locking folder. Congratulations.

Did the shop have any other Buck knives for sale? I found a good titanium 186 (with the take-down tool attached), about the size of your 110, years ago at a pawn shop in Southern Oregon and can't stop blabbing about it.

They had an all metal folder, like a 590 or something for $100, and a plastic handled folder that they had at $39. The "590" (can't remember for sure) gad 4 holes in the handle. It was very cool looking.

I bet what you saw, all-metal folder with holes in the handle, was a pinned 560 titanium folder. They are just about the same overall size as your 110 but lighter. $100, unless it is a rare variation, is a whole lot of money for a used 560. Terrific knife, however.

Here is a 560 (a variant in handle color and blade coating) and a 186 (has the belt clip attached) for your amusement:

Color wise, it was more like the bottom one. Is it safe to ask a fair price here should they still have it? I don't want to break rules.

It certainly looked cool!

That thing still has a ton of life left in it. Very good knife given the the price you paid for it IMHO.

that is a 5th version 3rd variation from 1973. Excellent knife, If you send it back to Buck, For $6.95 which includes return shipping, it will be like brand new.

came back like this

well worth it

That is about 10% of what I expected! I think I need to do that! Is there a link on the Buck website for this service?
