Picked up my first Buck knife (ever) from a pawn shop last night

No, just send it to the address on the website(lochsa) attention warranty dept. send a note with ot requesting buff and polish service.

I have one and bought it for 110 new (when It came out). I like the knife but not the clip, to thick. Never used mine though. Just looked at the model number on mine it says186 not 550

Keep the 110 for yourself, and buy the kid a 112! It'll fit his hand better anyway.

I visited most of the pawn shops in Post Falls and neighboring Spokane. Each had Buck knives. One had terrific ones in the back room after some discussion. I didn't come away with any from the pawn shops. Next time maybe.

but was the hunt fun? I need to see if that same shop I went to has that other one we were discussing still.

I'll second the BU112, only if the 110 is too big or he wants another Buck.. ;)

Fun & exciting. The challenge of the hunt. I didn't want to leave Post Falls, Idaho without a proper search. All but one shop was congenial and inviting. The one, despite many clerks behind the counter, completely ignored me as if I was invisible so I left w/o looking at something interesting.

I did, however, discover real treasure the likes of which I've not seen outside the Cody Buffalo Bill Firearms Museum. In the form of Glen Mattox in Post Falls. He invited me in and showed/discussed edged weapons & firearms from 1,000 BC Bronze Age to WW2. Author, collector & erudite enthusiast. Don't miss this when in Northern Idaho. Really.

I stopped back in to the shop that I picked up my 110 from. They still had the 560 for $90. I didn't make an offer this time. maybe in a few weeks I will.
