Picking my first traditional.

AG Russell knives are not cheap imports. He merely outsources manufacturing (to his specifications) of some of his products to meet certain price points.

GEC does not have a standard set of knives that they constantly produce. They are a small shop and turn out relatively small runs of their knives. Essentially every run of a knife may end up being a unique sprint run. Even when they repeat patterns, there is almost always some variance in handle material or other details. You just have to be patient for the next run, or keep your eye on the Exchange forum or web auction sites for used or pre-owned knives. Also, check EVERY listed vendor on GECs web site for stock. Some may have new knives in stock.

Queen is also a small shop and I don't know what their production backlog is. I believe there may be some delay on the current manufacture of them, based on at least one knife web site. I was able to pick up a Country Cousin in the 1st gen green micarta handles on the Exchange forum here earlier this year. It's a nice little knife.

I'd go with the Yellow CV Sodbuster for around $23 or if you were inclined toward bone handles (I've seen them for around $40ish), just save up another $15 and get the GEC. Of course, you could save a ton of cash by getting an Opinel #6 or #7 and trying that out for a while to see if a single blade folder is your cup of tea (around $12 online). I have 6 Opinels now and they've quickly gone from "that's a neat knife" to "Which Opinel do I carry today?" Honestly, you can't go wrong any way you choose. $40 nowadays still gets you plenty of knife, but save up $15 more and get the one you really want.

Consider the Queen Cutlery Country Cousin. You can get it in black delrin, green micarta and sometimes a Burgundy Red delrin if yellow doesn't please. Under 35 USD. Plus points. lightweight, thick rounded handles, good pointy blade, D2 will stay sharp longer than others. Minus: you need diamond stones for sharpening. Thanks, Will
