Picking your favorite

Eli , nice collection . I live in NY , now retired I don't use a knife as much but always have one clipped to my pocket . I'm into making walking sticks from every state park I walk , for me it's a nice hobby and get plenty knife time . I use a fixed blade to scrape the bark at first and as you mentioned , I have the Ken Onion sharpener and a set of stones that I had for years but never used then until now .

In the warmer season I enjoy benchrest shooting and with that hobby comes reloading your own bullets . Just like with knives and sharpening , it just adds to the hobby . Nice talking to people with the same interests . Be Well .

Didn't know about the Case Seahorse Whittler , I looked up the knife and I can see how the shape of the blade and lockup would be better for whittling , I've come across bark on some sticks that was so hard I couldn't carve it off but to use the knife blade as a scraper . I have a fixed blade knife from Garret Wade , the bush craft knife 2 3/4" blade . The Seahorse Whittler is definitely on my list , thank you .

In the traditional sub-forum there's a lot of wood carvers. I'm not one of them but they are very generous with their knowledge and preferences.
