Picnic & Hike With The Little One

Nice pics. There is nothing better then spending quality time with the little ones, especially enjoying nature. Thanks for posting.

Absolutely one of the nicest posts in a while, it has a little bit of everything.

Thank you for sharing!

Hey misty as usual great thread, good to see you getting out with the kid! As i grew up I spent a lot of time outside. I think that is missing now days, and for heaven sakes don't you know if small children younger than the age of 25 use knives they will cut their arms and finger and toes off. Ha Ha. Great to see you teaching your children. Keep up the good work!

My vote for "Thread of the week"! :) awesome photos Myst. That lilbit is your spittin image I swear. Loved it.

Thanks for sharing your good time.
I wish my daughter be like yours.
The pics of that shining moss is also great.
Thanks again.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm glad you enjoyed the post, we sure enjoyed the day.

As for knives, I know it is a different world today, but buy the time I was six I was out in the snow humping a heavy old Stevens .410 hunting along side my 13yr old brother and my dad.

Mistwalker:

I guarandamntee you that it doesn't get any better than this. Alayna is an angel and the times like these that you spend with her will stick with you forever. My daughters are in their teens now, and I'm no longer the center of their universe, but when I was, there was no better place to be. I envy you. Don't miss a chance to do more days like this with Alayna.

Very cool Mist! I am glad she is feeling better brother!

Thanks brother, me too. She had me worried for a while there, but she's pretty stubborn...not sure where she came by that...and nothing keeps her down for long :)

Nice pics, can't beat spending time with young children :)

Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed the post And no, you really can't. It's funny how I end up learning so many things in the process of teaching them.

Thanks Jake, I had a blast and so did Alayna.

I can't either, I'm looking forward to some blackberry cobbler :)

Great pics Mist. She's already a natural with the knife, she has the paracord bracelets, yup I think she is off to a great start! :D I like the poncho liner as a picnic blanket too. Looks like the perfect day

Wow it looks like shes really being brought up in a way that will let her appreciate the natural world around her. Shes probably going to be more outdoorsy than any of the guys she brings home ;)

Thanks Tknife, yeah she's been helping me in the kitchen for a while now, I saved some pics of the first time and one other. You can see how excited she was to help and the concentration on her face.

I make the para-cord bracelets so she and my wife both have collections of them going now in various colors. The liner makes a great picnic blanket, I used to do the same thing with my oldest daughter, who by the way is graduating high school today. And yes it really was a perfect day!

Thanks man, she loves to be out and about with me so I'm trying to teach her a thing or two about the outdoors, and that is my game plan :)

Excellent, mistwalker!

I'm surprised Codger didn't jump in with that old Schrade, front and center.
