Pics--because jdm's sucked. :-)

Joe, your post to the other thread reminded me that I had been meaning to comment on how nice
this piece is. I'm curious, in your view is this your finest knife to date?
I know you said it was one of your first damascus pieces.

It's definitely one of the better ones I have done so far and was one of the easier ones to get right with minimal cursing and throwing of objects around the shop. I was pretty pleased with that little Damascus and ivory hunter that I did last year too. The only real gripes I had with this bowie were where the etchant bled under the Sharpie ink on the stamp and the fact that after 5 years, I STILL dinged the bottom corner of the ricasso when I was setting the edge on the KMG. I think I need to get some Japanese water stones. LOL.
Although I have improved a fair bit in he last couple of years, especially in the area of chasing scratches, I still have a sentimental attachment to the smaller of the two bowies in the Coop picture on the welcome page of my website. Those were done almost 3 years ago and that little one was WAY better than anything I had done previously and as good as anything I did for the year or so after that. Those two were the first bowies I ever did using an Andrews/Hanson style sculpted guard instead of an oval plate guard and it was done better on the little one. That was a bit of a turning point for the look of my knives IMO.
