Picked the boy up from school today, and we headed over to the lake.
Just thought I'd share some pics from our day out.
Best part of the day... "Papa, this is a lot better than watching TV."

First, I'll get all the blade pics out of the way.
Here are the knives we had.

And here are some more shots.

A gratuitous packs shot.

The boy ranging on the rocks.

And working on his knife skills.

All the rocks normally submerged during summer pool had fossils.
This one looks like a fish fossil, though I suppose it could be a plant.

Here's another fossil.

We found lots of stuff.
At one point there were a lot of crawfish claws left on the rocks, presumably by birds.

We also found $10 to $15 worth of lures hung up in the rocks.

A couple of final shots...

Looks like a fun day Guyon. I recognize the BK2, of course, and the Mora, but what's the other knife? Really nice shots, btw.

lose the ESEE and it's a great post ;)

yar.

reminds me i should run my metal detector more. find stuff.

Great pics. That scenery is just gorgeous! I miss the chicken. :) Love that Mora 511.

The chicken called me from Boca this morning and demanded I send more money for booze.

nice pics! looks pretty warm there now. we're hitting close to the 20s at night here still.

Awesome shots Guyon, I miss exploring the rocks along the coast. The BK-2 and the HEST are two of my favorite knives. They are both my "hard-to-kill" survival knives, one for the bush and one for the urban environment :)

I'm jealous. I had soccer practice in the rain. That's it. Just soccer practice.

Nice pics, brother, wish I would have been there.

"this is a lot better than watching t.v." .... All worth it right there.

Thanks for the pics.

Great pics, bud. Always good to see the little guys get out with dad. Looks like you guys had some nice weather for it, too.

I recognize the BK2, of course, and the Mora, but what's the other knife?

It's the HEST (Hostile Environment Survival Tool) Somewhat more aimed at the soldier than at the bushcrafter and outdoorsman, but whatever floats your boat, right?

Thanks for the pics, Guyon, that looks like a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset.

take care

...I recognize the BK2, of course, and the Mora, but what's the other knife?

Think of it as sort of similar in thought to the design of the BK-2 design but with serious discretion, and a much higher level of portability for use within a populated urban environment having been primary factors.

Looks like a fine time....Great knife choice for your son....Light good handle size for a youngster's hands and enough blade but not too much.....

All Best...

Looks like a good time Guyon! Good on you for taking your kid outside and actually doing something with him!
