Pics - New Products Coming Soon

Well, that'll learn me.

Turns out the recess in the Rescue blade is for better control in "tip work". Why this is a priority on a seatbelt cutter is beyond me ;)

Is this a big priiority for Spyderco? It looks like there's knurling near the point on both Impalas, and I've heard that the Jester has something similar. Neat.

Also, it turns out that the Kiwi and Anniversary knives' scales are natural bone. Real neat!

Looks like some really great stuff coming up. :D

This Rescue is not the one you are thinking of. The other Rescue had a full width tip, that is not flat ground, but the same width as the area around the pivot. This is depressed to "pop" out the window breaker. A pretty cool feature when seen at the Blade Show. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the production model.

That'll mean that I'll be carrying another knife with me. Oh, so many knives and not enough places to clip them. I might have to start wearing a hat to clip 'em to.:D

Ronin! Ronin! Ronin!

Just can't stop doing that!

I really like all of those protos. The Kiwi is a little unusual, but I like it a lot. I do have one problem though. The Ronin(my favorite of these) says MSRP $159.99. I hope this is wrong, because, as you can see here, http://www.bladeart.com/artists/mike_snody/mike_snody.htm , the price for the custom version is $160. I'm not paying the same price, or even the online retailer's discounted price, for a production version. Please tell me this is a mistake on the pricing.

Looks like the Impala with the gut hook is going to be my next hunting knife. What a great looking knife! The Ronin is a serious looking MBC knife. I'll have to get one of those too.I think it would be a great setup to carry at the beach or while running.

Where's the Spyderbali?

The Spyderco balisongs are more than 6 months from production and thus not included in this "coming soon" list.

What can I say but- way to go Joyce Sal and co...

All of them are way beyond "nice to have" -but the Ronin is a definite MUST...

Joyce - if you send one my way - I’d be sure to write an article about it.

poboy - have you ever tried to get one of Snody's handmade Ronin pieces? Good luck. Since MSRP is $160, it means that you will easily be able to find it at around $110 and probably lower from certain discounters.

I picked up one of the Sakai's at the last NYC show- it's a slick
little gent's folder. Grab one when you can- good price point!

The Impala (no guthook) looks pretty good to me. I want one.

After looking at the Impala's picture for a while, it's blade is somewhat reminiscent of the Starmate's blade, and the handle reminds me of the Military's handle. Not copied, but in that style.

Presumably, and hopefully, the linerlock is nested as on the Starmate and Military, and with an eccentric pivot. ?

You know, Marty, That Impala, the one w/o the guthook, looks really good to me as well. But I think that the blade, upon consideration, looks more like a Wegner than a StarMate. NOTHING will ever take the place of my beloved StarMate! But I do like that Impala very much.

I kind of like the Kiwi as well. it's one weird looking little dude, but it is growing on me.

Yes, the Impala blade is also reminiscent of the Wegner as well as the Starmate, perhaps more so the Wegner. Kind of a toss-up, to me. I have a Starmate, no Wegner.

The other new knives are interesting, but the one that jumps out to me is the Impala. Maybe some of the others will grow on me.

Is there a picture for the Paramilitary yet?
Tht is most anticipated new Spyderco for me-
Thank you-
Martin

Having had the opportunity to play with the Ronin proto a little while it was here, I can definitely say that none of you will be disappointed with this outstanding little MBC piece!!

Sal,

Glad to help out, and thanks for the mention - it wasn't necessary, but appreciated. Anytime.

Being a big Wegner fan I will have to add the Trakker as the third Wegner in my collection. When the Spyderbali comes out that will be another addition.

I enjoyed the pics. Thanks!
