Pics of customized production knives

Here are some pictures of a TOPS knives UTE I did awhile back, it was my first attempt at doing scales. I stripped the paint, forced a patina, sharpened it, my own homemade canvas micarta scales, tube pins and made a little sheath from some scrap leather I had.

A Schrade: stripped blade, patina added, homemade polymer scales.

Just some old scraps. Not one piece was big enough to make a set. But strategically cut, they will make two sets.
These will be Mini-grip scales.

I've got a lot of scrap pieces. How did you attach and color them? - or are those liners?

They are cut on angle and glued to the liners. A thin strip of liner is sandwiched between the cuts for a pinstripe.
This is step one of several steps. I would next cut another set of liner material for the recess required for the steel knife liner. Did that today. All the pieces are glued together to make a scale.
I will try to get more pics up tomorrow. Hoping to make some progress...

You can get the jest of the process below. It is not easy, but it is straight forward and doesn't require milling. Only a little dremel work for the axis lock recess.

Benchmade 51 Morpho

Custom ground the swedge in, blacked it out w/ Cerakote, then microbeveled the swedge so it is fully hair popping sharp =)
