I didnt take any of the cutting edge away just removed the round part till it was parallel with the rest of the existing "handle". If that makes any sense.

Thanks...It feels so good in the hand with the full scales. Next thing I want to do is etch the blade,strip it , and blue the whole thing..

did the scales on my skyline and then polished the blade. didnt do the blade too well but im happy with the scales at least.
