Pics of Knives with Damascus/Damasteel

Thank you! I appreciate the comments.

Well as for the steel pattern, that's actually a fairly easy one as long as you have some careful control of steel movement. The hand carved, no power tools handle.....that's another story. ;)

I don't believe that one got a sheath because it went to a private collection on a display stand.
I thought about that, that it might not have had a sheath since it’s just too beautiful to use.
But how perfect would a basket weave leather sheath be especially if the leather color matched the wood.

Even if I never put it in the sheath, I think I couldn’t have passed that opportunity to have some nice backer weave leather to go with it.

From the pic it looks like the edge wasn’t sharpened after acid wash? Again I assume because it’s gonna be a wall hanger, or maybe my eyes are just getting lost in the pattern lol.

In any case I would love to just coon finger that gorgeous work, love the spine, grind, and that handle especially 🤤.
Top notch work sir!

Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery can make you sheath worthy of such a unicorn. :)

A sheath would look good for sure. I no longer make my own sheaths. I have used Claude Scott for many years and he, indeed, is a master of matching colors and patterns to the knife. I'm certain he would have done just as you described.

It does actually have a wicked sharp, fully functional edge on it, even in that Pic. I'm a believer in very keen edges and very small secondary bevels. I think they cut better and look better when that secondary bevel is as small as possible.

Very good, as I said, my eyes might have been deceiving me as I’m viewing it on a smaller cell phone screen. A polished ribbon of steel I bet looks amazing in contrast.

Another Cheburkov for this beautiful thread!

I'm starting to really appreciate that type of closing action. Not long ago, it was a negative. Live and learn I suppose. :)
Yeah, I think a lot of people go through that cycle. You want the absolute most frictionless drop-shut action imaginable, until you get a couple and they turn out to be a finger guillotines and you gets cuts all over your hands haha. No, but in seriousness, I like both styles, but there is something real nice about a washer action that's so silky smooth.

That's exactly what's happened. No worries about cuts, but just isn't the only way. Still have one foot on each side of the line though. Expecting another Arius today. lmao!

Ooo nice! The Arius is a hell of a knife. Never owned one, but always like seeing them. Post pics when ya get it! 🍻
