Howdy folks!

I was finally able to get my hands on a digital camera and take some sloppy pictures. I never really figured it out, so some turned out well and others not so much.

These are some pictures of the knives that have ended up staying with me over the years. It's hard to call it a collection since there was never any conscious goal to obtain certain types, these are simply what ended up being purchased and used since I was a kid.

Most of the blades are pretty obvious, but the large blade at the left of the main picture is my Junglee Bolo, the largest blade I own right now. It's a very sharp blade and a decent little chopper.

Also of note is that the CKRT KISS folder and the SAK are my two EDC blades, they are near the center of the group.

Thanks for looking!

[PS- I've never posted a pic before, so I may end up needing some help if these don't show up!]

Thanks for the notes folks!

Groovy, that fixed blade to the lower left of the Fiskars is a little Winchester knife that my stepbrother got me for christmas a few years ago. I used it as my usual backpacking knife and it held up better than I had expected. The steel isn't great and the handle is a little small, but it's been a trooper!

William, I actually really like that Junglee Bolo. It's one of the sharpest blades I own and is easy to keep shaving-sharp. The forward cant helps it chop quite a bit. I used it a good bit on general woodwork when I first got it, but then only sparingly on either backyard ground clearing chores or when backpacking through dense vegetation.

Glad you like the slipjoints, S. Brown! I've got just a few more, but these were sort of the 'cream of the crop'.

Oh, that last pic is what I've deemed my modern 'Nessmuk trio'. I figure I've got most bases covered with those three blades.

Thanks again for the notes, folks!

UpNorth, the Glock field knife is a pretty sturdy little devil. It's not a blade that you ever worry about breaking or abusing (kind of like their pistols). The blade, however, is pretty thick relative to it's width and it's pretty tough for me to keep a good edge on it. They serve their purpose sometimes but I don't love mine as a primary fixed blade.

Troutfisher, I actually had just ordered the Firesteel from campingsurvival.com without specifying the color, and that's what they sent me by default. At first I was a little taken back by it, but having such an important item in a bright color seems like a good idea.

Thanks!

Cool. I just did a kabar sheath for my cousin.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking.

The Chef, Hi! Wish I could give you some good specifics on the hawk. It's actually something I've had since I was a very wee lad, my dad got it for me. It has no markings of any kind. I think it's been rehandled about 3 times when I was learning to throw it. The steel isn't too great, sadly, and it won't hold a good enough edge for me to trust it in the woods. Pretty fun to throw, though!

The Fiskars looks remarkably like my Gerber axe/hatchet. Both the head and the handle, especially the finish on the head, the way it attaches and the flare at the bottom of the handle with the hole.

Am I the only one that doesn't know that one make the axes for the other or is this just a coincidence?

They look nice. A little too nice, maybe- don't be afraid to get out and use 'em! :) Even that pipe doesn't look like you've built up much of a carbon cake yet. What kinda tabaccy ya smoke?

Spooky, I like the diversity of your collection.
Lots of variety for various jobs.

Thanks for the pics.
