Yesterday I went back to Rangemasters and got the Marlin 1894c I've been drooling over. The gun is Awesome!! The gun funtioned flawlessly with all ammo we tried. In total we put 100 rounds though it. I definantly like the gun.

On our way to Rangemasters we stopped by Sportsmans Warehouse so we could check out some AR15's and various accesories. I got some Deer skin gloves and a .38 caliber cartrage belt. I've been doing some dry fire tests with the Marlin and my Ruger blackhawk with the leather gloves on and things are working great!!

This morning I took some pictures and figured I'd share them with you all.

I'm wearing the new belt with my Western L36 hunting knife, the Ruger blackhawk, gloves and 2 different fedoras depending on the pic. The grey one is a new Stetson I picked up last week. The green one I've had for almost 8 years.

Check out the pics and tell me what you think. Thanks,

Heber

And probably more effective for self-defence than alot of people think.

After you get your AR you might be surprised how well the Marlin can shoot,
compared to the AR, under 150 yards.

What a good pair. They look great together.

What would complete the set would be an appropriate and matching... wait for it... you guessed it... KNIFE! With a leather sheath that matches the belt too, of course.

Thanks for the compliments! :) Peter, I'm glad you saw the knife. Sorry for not posting a shot of it yesterday. I took 3 pics today that should show it off pretty well.

It's an old Western L36 Bowie. 5" long Carbon steel blade with stacked leather handle. I made the sheath for it about 4 years ago when I was starting to learn to do leather working. Strap is short and it ain't pretty but it hold secure! :)

Looks great, a smaller western is on its way to me.
The sheath looks great too, noting fancy, just a good solid user.
Thanks for the quick reply Heber.

Thanks to you too Peter. :) What model Western do you have coming?

Spinnerblade, is that you in the video or just something you found online? That Marlin looks just like mine. :D And whats the pistol on the right hip?

Anyone else have a fun combo they would like to share?

Heber,

If you don't mind me asking, what did the 1894C cost you? Or I guess I should ask, what is a "good" going rate for one, and what is an "average" going rate for one?

I've had one on my "to buy" list for more years than I can count. Finances don't currently allow me to pick one up, but perhaps I should start saving for one.

It was about $545 after taxes and MSRP is $579.00, so I think I did okay. Anytime I get get a gun for less then MSRP after taxes and back ground check is good to me. :)

I believe its a Boy scout L48 with a flat ground carbon steel blade.

Hope it gets here soon. :o

I have an L48ABG (saber ground with fullers) which is pretty much the same knife your getting. I also have an F48 which has a full flat ground blade with fullers and a stacked aluminum and plastic handle. Those old Westerns are nice regerdless of model. Got a gun or two to go with the knife?

Heber

Wildmanh that's me in the video:D. You can't tell what pistol it is because it's not in the holster when I took the clip. That day I was shooting this one.

I bought a Ruger Security Six to go with the Marlin, but I couldn't get it to shoot very well, so I sold it after a few months, for a little more than I paid for it.:)

The Marlin I'm shooting is the economy model. The walnut ones don't seem to show up very often around here.Patrick

I wish, Its way to expensive to own a gun over here (Germany).
When I'm in America I usually shoot a Ruger .357 and a mini 14, not my own though :(.

Maybe one day... well Ill probably spend the summer in the US, so theres still some hope :D.
Peter

Wildman, my first .357 was an old three-screw Ruger Blackhawk about 1975 or so. It had a 6.5 inch barrel I think. I got an early Marlin .357 lever gun much like yours about that time or soon after that, too. Unfortunately I traded the Ruger at some point, but that little Marlin is a lifetime keeper. Mine has no checkering on the wood and was made WAAAAAAAAAAY before the lawyers made them put safeties on lever guns. Try some light .38 Spl. target loads in your Marlin sometime. They are so quiet it's almost scary.
