Pics of my new .357 Mag setup

Spinnerblade, I liked the video and nice gold cup! Would love to have one like yours. Didn't think you had the gun in thte holster. Had to ask though and glad I did. Got any more video's or pics?

Peter, if you make it to Utah this summer, contact me and we'll go shooting!

Dr. Mudd, Sounds like a nice Blackhawk you had. I almost got the 6.5" Barrelled model but the 4 5/8" seemed to match my Single Six a little better. Glad you still have the Marlin. Even though I've only put 100 rounds though mine I'm so glad I bought it. Got 200 rounds of 125 grain .38's to shoot this weekend.

I wanted to get a Winchester Model 94 Trapper in 44. mag
But
Winchester stopped making them!!!
The only other choice is the Marlin 1894
I have heard good things about Marlin lever actions
That rifle goes good with your Western L66!!!!====>

The L66 is an interesting idea I didn't think about before. Might have to consider it.

Am going out of town tomorrow morning for a family get together, but will try to take the Marlin shooting if I can find the time and it's not to cold. I'm curious as to how quiet the 125 grain .38 special rounds are.

So Heber, this thread finally pushed me over the edge: I went to the shop today ready to buy the Marlin finally. I figured my Dubya check will cover it. They said they'd have to order it in for me, which I said was fine, but then they said they weren't sure how long it might take because of supply issues with Marlin recently :grumpy:

I left my contact info with them until they can get me a hard ETA on one. Sucks, because I was really ready to 'pull the trigger' on one, both figuratively and literally :D

Oh well, I guess some more waiting won't kill me since I've already waited all these years. I know the tube fits 9 .357 rounds so how many .38 rounds will it fit?

ThinkOfTheChildren, good luck with getting the Rifle, they are awesome!! My brother inlaw and I just got back from the range, we took the Marlin and Henry. Both were so fun to shoot.

We shot 50 rounds of 125 grain .38 Special, about 30 rounds of 158 grain .357 and some 158 grain .38's in it. We really liked the 125 grain .38's. We had the best groups with them and barely felt the recoil which was nice. Cutting Soda bottles and cans in half was fun.

We didn't count how many .38s would fit in the tube, we just put a few rounds in it and shot. I think it holds 10, but don't quote me. LOL!! Just get one, you'll love it. Any by the way, the action is smoothing out nicely.

Your welcome Heber. Glad you liked them.
I went shooting today.
The weather was perfect, calm, sunny and warm.Patrick

I used to have the Blackhawk in 357 and 41 both. The 41 had a shorter barrel than the 357 but I could hold my own with the 41 much better than the 357. Loved both guns and passed many hours of pleasure with both.
Later on I got hold of an Ivers Johnson 44mag. Not high end gun but it was beuatiful and felt good in the hand. Too much gun for me and really hard on the ears. The years finally convinced me to go smaller so I've ended up with a 9mm as my only hand gun. Some would call it a girlie gun but I'm happy with it.

I have no problem with 9mm. My Blackhawk Convertible sees more 9mm rounds though it then anything else. :) Though I think 125 grain 38's are the funnest to shoot out of it. IMO the trick is being comfortable with what you shoot and get good at it.
