I want to thank Tom for giving me the chance to get this blade from him. This thing is awesome. You have got to order one soon. I am going to be carrying this one until my next TnT arrives.

I love this knife!

I would love to use imagestation but I tried to upload some pics and it says they aren't in the correct format. How do I cure this?

Since you paid for Gold membership, use the 'attach file' option. Click the 'browse' button just above the 'submit reply' button, and choose the file you want o show - the system will copy it to BFC's server, and attach the image.

You know, I never liked Tom Mayo's TNT's until I saw this thing! I was never impressed with this OLD surfer's stuff. I am myself an OLD Southern California boy that grew up spending all my time during the summers, in Huntington Beach mainly, (in the 50's and 60's), I just thought he was another OLD surfer that moved to Hawaii to persue his dream as a BEACH BUM but KNOWING he was just a hoodad. I am now impressed. My problem though, is that he still thinks he's a cool surfer, (moving to Hawaii was REAL common in the early days). Ask him if he ever surfed off the "trestles", (right next to Dicky Nixons place), in Dana Point when he was in SoCal. If he did, then he's a REAL surfer. I have to hand it to him though, he MADE IT on the island but I think he's still a hoodad!:)

Ok, I'll bite. What does the term "hoodad" mean/imply?

I don't personally need to own any hawksbill blades, but Mayo's looks pretty cool...it's that long ground swedge that does it. Well, I guess that could be considered "double ground" also. In any case,

Teasing Tom a little. A hoodad was a guy that dressed, looked and talked the talk but didn't surf! A FAKE surfer in other words. The Island, (Hawaii), and the Pipeline was everybody's dream. Those were crazy old days!
