Pics of Para Military and Kerambit

I'm with fishbulb.

I'd likely buy a ParaMilitary, but not if it has the name lasered onto the blade in huge letters. Ugghhh.... Talk about being sheeple unfriendly.

I also think it would look better to laser or diamond etch it on the blade smaller.

Well, I'm happy..The Paramillie may be the "upscale Endura" that you all have been whining about. I hope the final ends up with reversible clip poitions, but if not, there's always the old tap method. The Yojimbo solves the Ronin Handle size Problem-and Blue G-10! hooray! You know, a long time ago, I posted about production knives patterned after Boxcutters, and I finally have my answer..--Joe

Yeah- I was a little concerned w/ the big print on the blade.
Less Is More. Subtlety is good.

Judging by that picture, the Yojimbo will NOT have a reversible clip... Is that so? As far as I'm concerned, that would be a major bummer...

On the page it says next to the Yojimbo ´Griffmaterial - FRN´. Griffmaterial is German for handle material, hence my confusion. I am happy to hear otherwise though! But has the trakkr project been postponed or abandoned?

Wouter

I think the Yojimbo is VG-10, and it will have a l/r reversible clip, but this is only what I remember--joe

Sal said (back in 12/02) that it would be CPM-S30V. If it's being made in the US, I'd bet S30V over VG-10.

There's a thought- a "sterile" Para. Would be nice indeed, but the folks in Golden are gonna wanna say "something" on the blade... Just hope it's not in HUGE black letters. :(

I think that a Spyderco bug or something of that nature would be just fine. How about just "Spyderco" on the blade, if you really want to have something there.

Alternatively, would it be possible to mark the blade with ink or pigment instead of laser etching. That way it those who want it will have it, but it could be removed fairly easily with some rubbing compound or paint thinner.

I was also very disappointed to see the large lettering on the blade (I've been eagerly waiting for this knife) - I'd like to see the lettering MUCH smaller or none at all. Better yet - black blade! That would be IMO, very close to the ideal knife!

Just PARA would be nice. Would save me the trouble of refinishing the blade when I get mine.

What are the dimensions on the kerambit?

why is it that i cannot get onto the acmareus page? i get the old "The page cannot be displayed" error ... anyone post a better pic of the para? thx

Last thing I want on the Paramilitary to have blacken blade only....
I don't think the tactical look is really needed.

I'll take a Karambit, a Para, and the Yojimbo...my bank account is going to take a MAJOR beating in the coming months.
Matt

Well, maybe the huge letters are just for the prototypes in order to clearly identify them for shows.

I'd prefer the name down at the base of the blade along with the company name and steel type.

Less is more, I agree.
