Hey Guys,
Something WetDog said a while back got me to wondering about all the different incarnations of the SHSH, the half moon pommel in particular. I've seen so many different handle configurations, and there seems to be a difference in the ricasso (sp?) between the A2 and INFI. Those of you with SHSH's please do post pics. :D

Heres my three SHSH's

and a closeup of my mystery SHSH, I thought it was A2 but from what I've been hearing it might be INFI, any ideas?

and a closer view of the ricasso area, it does look a little uneven in there...

I may be wrong,,

but besides the INFI dimples,, isnt that "curved" ricasso also a indication of it being INFI steel,or in some cases with the earlier BB Steel Hearts, ATS34.

seems like all the early A2 models(SHBA, MS, BBSH. ect) had more of a slightly "straight up" from choil to spine ricasso grind,,

if so,,then that mystery model is defenitly INFI.

Curved ricasso's are as a general rule an indication of INFI, but a fellow sent me a pic of his early INFI SHSH and it had a very short straight line very similar in look to my BBSHSH's ricasso. Its part of what makes it so fascinating to collect these knives eh? :D

The SHSH1 is easy to identify, they're about an inch shorter, and the curve in the ricasso is a lot more pronounced. And theres only two bolts in the handle.
