Pics of the Blade-Tech Pro Hunter Lite

I just got back from vacation. I took one of my Lite's with me. I didn't come back with it though. My brother-in-law wouldn't give it back. He loved the knife. He is an avid outdoorsman. He turned 50 in May so I told him he could keep it as a gift.

I'll be ordering another though. Maybe an orange one this time.

Old thread, new knife. Guess the new versions of the Pro Hunter Lite are made in Taipei, Taiwan and I have to say that I'm very impressed. Much bang for the buck.

I've always liked the Wegner designs, but have really never found a version that fit exactly what I was looking for--until now. Fit and finish are not perfect, but very, very close. The opening hole and locking bar were a little sharp and there was a slight bur in the edge. Nothing thirty seconds with a diamond rod didn't fix. Overall attention to detail is very good and the lockup solid. Very sharp out of the box and a strongly ground blade and tip.

The handle is FRN, but so closely textured to G-10 that it's tough to tell the difference. Probably would be heavier with the G-10 though. This one's about the right weight at around 4 ounces.

This knife has pretty much replaced my other folders for both edc and work. For a folder named Hunter I think this knife is one of those that could just about handle any chore and is the perfect size for what I need. Excellent design from Wegner and the folks at Blade-Tech.:thumbup:

I loved the pro hunter lite. Excellent fit and finish, good sturdy work knife that I carried every day. Now, for the first time in my life, I've lost a knife and it was the pro hunter lite. :(

I just know that if I buy a new one, my old one will immediately turn up.

Just got mine yesterday.

Very solid, extremely sharp.

One complaint: Pretty much all edges are sharp (as in not deburred/rounded).

Hey topknot, welcome to Bladeforums! (I know, 2006, but you haven't posted much :) )

De-burring is a thing of mine. It's so easy to do though, that I don't mind having to take care of it. Just take a ceramic rod, like a Spyderco rod, and buff the edge with it. It will look exactly the same but will feel silky and won't cut when you rub your finger over it anymore.

It's almost worth losing a knife just to get that sun-coming-out-from-behind-the-clouds feeling when it shows up again! :)

zombie thread
I have a few Lite model folders from Bladetech... all with excellent lockups / tolerances....however my MLEK Lite and Pro Hunter Lite say made in Taiwan whereas my Mouse Lite says made in SekiCity Japan....
great value these knives
