The balance point is right behind the first rivet. I don't think that the balance point on a smaller knife is as important as it would be for a large knife. It is only important if one intends to do fancy knife twirls
ThunderUnderKilt,
Most INFI are thick because Jerry tends to overbuild his knives. That is so that crazy folks out there who like to abuse their knives will have a hard time breaking a INFI blade
Lil' Foo,
I use a cheapy grizzly belt grinder to do all of my mods. Still saving up for a nice variable speed KMG. The grizzly grind at blazing speeds and things get hot real quick. I need to dunk the blades in water after every single pass.
I guess I'll come out of the closet now as one the "Grinducci" brothers. I did the same to the handle with a snake/satin LMS but left the blade alone except to drop the point slightly. I was thinking of it as an Extended Duty and really like it.
That's one hell of a mod you got there. The full flat-grind is sweet. Did this blade start out as one of the Milganzaaa muddy MrS or was it a Leaner to begin with?
DD,
Get out of the closet and show us some pics! It is good to know that others also like to tinker around with their busse blades.
Ken44,
Yeah I am also very partial to a nice hand rubbed satin finish. I looks good and very easy to maintain. Beat is all up then just spend 5-10mins going through it with 320grit and it is brand spankin new again.
Mike Biz,
This one originally started out as a Muddy MS from the Milganzaa
OutFreakingStanding Ban!!! A Leaner Meaner Street with a AD handle... wow! Wish I had thought to butt grind one of my MrS...dang bro, you're getting really good at this...Modding Busse!
Here are some pics of my "project". I trimmed the handle at the end, narrowed it slightly for the first finger, and dropped the point a little. Cheers,
DD
