Picture post

Brian, would you mind doing a top or bottom view of one of these khuks? I'm curious as to how thin you made the handles. Your treatment makes them look very classy.

I rubbed out this blade to a satin finish, because the original finish had some buffed over scratches. I guess that's why it's a "villager" and the price was so great. I believe this is a 600 grit finish. Shiny enough for my taste.
I used the left-over ostrich leather from the bilton sheath to trim this one. Don't waste anything around here. I did a little work on the tools too.
The handle has a zillion coats of my secret finish. It's the same secret finish everyone uses -

So, basically you took material off the sides and re-filed the rings, right?

Also, where did you get the ostrich leather? It's really great.

Thanks.

I just saved the image of the Bilton and the ostrich sheath. It's a slippery slope from here on.:(

The sticker on the back of the leather said Tandy Leather Co. Also said, 'Farm raised South African ostrich.' If you find a source, put me down for a couple more.

Very nice work Brian. Love the handle work, and the ostrich is great! Gotta try some leather work some day.
