Picture requests - tanker grey vs desert sage

Tanker is my current favorite, one of the reasons as stated above as being the smoothest. Moss green seems to be the thickest coating to me. Black the roughest. I take some steel wool or a scotchbrite pad and smooth it out. Sage and muddy seem about the same in roughness. Both good looking coatings.

Has anyone done a cold blue on their stripped carbon blade? I was curious if that would be a good way to put a nice forced patina to slow oxidation.

Yes, I have done this with a stripped 711. Bluing is NOT food safe, so don't do it with any blade that might come into contact with edibles. I don't care about that for my 711 because I just wail on that blade and don't use it for food prep. It works much better without the drag from the coating, the bluing has protected it well, and as it wears away you can just continue to reapply cold blue later as it blends well.
