Picture resizing tutorial

Thanks, Pat. This looks to be so simple, that even I could use it without any problems.:)

I use picasa, and I fix the colors if necessary on there, and then hit the export button at the bottom, and then pick about 792 pixels for the export size, which gets it down pretty nicely.

If you are a windows user, you can always download the Windows Image Resize utility from HERE.
It's the simplest tool out there, just right click a file, and tell it to re-size...

Troop, glad it helps.

Mike, I heard that picasa is a good one, just never used it myself.

Brian, I did not remember this powertoy. I will reinstall it on my laptop and see if I need to add it to the tutorial. I can't remember if you can set the compression ratio with it.

It's easy but I have not found a way to keep a copy of the high res pic. I use Quickweb photo resizer. You drag and drop it onto the "desk" and it reduces it and still keeps an original. Then after uploading it to a host I delete it out of my pics.

Patrice,

I appreciate your tutorials very much. Thanks, it is nice of you to post this type of info.

Regards,:)

Good job; I did one of these as well a couple years ago cause it really sucks when you want to view a web page that has several 3+ Megabyte images that are trying to load.
