Picture Thread

Just used this little guy to make dinner and it's finally starting to show a patina on the blade.

It has been a while since I have gotten a new knife, and I have forgoten just how giddy I get when a new one comes in.

This thing is better than I imagined. Now it is just time to put it to work. I can't wait for the handles to darken up and the blade to patina.
Also, the sheath turned out great. I don't know what my expectations were, but it far surpassed them.

Thanks alot John. You hit it out of the park on this one.

SSS, Great looking knife! What type of wood was used on the scales?

Toby's Knife has always reminded me of a stout paring knife that just excels at your general chore. Nothing Too crazy, but strong and stable enough for just about any reasonable task. Not too big to get in the way, but enough to earn and keep your confidence.

Bloodwood
The other side looks a lot better(I wasn't thinking when taking the picture). It has thicker and more definitive graining. I was surprised at how stout it was when I pulled it out of its box. It sure seems thicker then 1/8".
I'm debating on polishing the wood up. I have seen beautiful pictures of polished bloodwood, but I am afraid it would then severely lack in gripyness. And with such a small handle that might be an issue.
Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Well, We're Waiting...

While it Would look nice while polished, I like the matte look. Plus, don't forget that it might naturally polish where your hand contacts and the oils from your hand might act as a primitive stain.
But, that may take more time than you are looking to relinquish control to.

Haha
This is the only pic I have on hand. Its not the best lighting, but it'll do in a pinch.

I'll try to get a better one tomorrow. My phone's camera isn't the greatest.

I'm loving it! And Ixm far from an electrician. I do remodling with my dad. I change the ocasional outlet or switch, but that's pretty much the extent of my electrical skills.

Tloves, thats a nice looking piece, do you know the specs, regarding size, off hand?
