That would be an Edge Pro Apex sharpening system. I had a little buyers remorse after the initial purchase of such an expensive sharpener, but after owning it a few years im very glad I spent the money. I now know exactly what degree bevel im putting on any blade and I can mirror polish my edges with amazing results. I never sharpen above a 400 grit stone on a high carbon steel though.

The granite base for the sharpener is hand made by yours truly. They also work great for cutting boards. (I thought they would sell like crazy, but it didn't happen...) :p

The sharpie marker is for marking the edge of the blade so I know right where my stones are contacting the blade.

The little square cube behind the sharpie is an angle finder so I can set exactly what degree angle I want on each knife.

The stuff in the tin is mostly for cleaning my guns and the blue tube is thread locker for when I take off gun grips or knife handles. All of my Ontario knives have removable handles.

The coffee cup contains some high grade Dark Roast Community coffee. Community Coffee is based right here I Louisiana. :p

The little bottle behind the coffee cup is just soapy water for cleaning the water stones and keeping them wet.

That looks great!
A little heat really gave that Osage wood some character.
I would have never known that red color was hiding in there.

Just received this beautiful addition yesterday. Im loving the 'extended' Toby's knife!

The last picture is the Toby's knife compared to a Stretched Mini Potowatami.

The Toby's knife and the Stretched Mini Pot. are similar in dimensions, so I asked John to extend the Toby's blade by an inch.
It really gives the knife a big feel in a small package.

Nice photos, I like the comparison. Thanks for posting, I was getting close to closing this thread down, almost 3 months without a new photo!

Check This Out!

My dad is a carpenter and works outside mostly all day. Hes been framing up this house for a customer and keeps his knife on his side in a John Smith Leather sheath.
He has been sweating so much that his sheath soaked up the sweat and the leather swelled to the point of not holding his knife any more. Hes been keeping his knife in his tool bag around his waist.
After a few weeks of his knife being covered in sweat and left inside his tool bag the 01 steel has really taken on some rust.

This is knife is a heavy user so he doesn't mind the rust. Im going to clean it up and maybe put a forced patina on it to help keep some of the rust at bay.

I thought yall would get a kick out of looking at his knife.

Put some linseed oil on the Rule#9. It really brings out the color of the Bocote.

One of my favorites, Buck Custom Shop 110, in oak, nickel and BG-42.

Very nice. Do you carry it much? I have a custom shop 110, but can't bring myself to use it much. Still one of my favorite folders, though. It does go in the pack for outdoor activities from time to time.

I don't carry that one much, it was my first and BG-42 ones are kind of rare, but I also have and indigo blue one and an orange figiwood one that I do carry. Also a walnut 501 and indigo 503 that get some pocket time.

Here's mine. It's elk, brass, and S30v.

I've heard you need diamond stones to sharpen S30v, which I don't have. I think that's the main reason I don't use it a lot. I think I'm going to start putting it on the belt.
