I'll bet it could baton through a twig, even though knives are only for cutting stuff.

It can, but I kid you not the blade is now loose from batoning it into this one little stick.

A small stick and only a couple taps has this fixed blade loose, not sure if it's glued on or if they cast the zinc onto it but this proves they're only for opening letters.

I am so sorry for the monstrosity that I have created. Which brings me to my next question, how good is that tang?

As a novelty / keychain / letter opener, it's probably just a 1/4" long protrusion with a hole or notch in it.
