Looks like a great turnout. How many folks showed up?

There is always a lot to learn at the big hammerins.

I take notes anymore or forget half of what I learned.

Glad you got a chance to go.

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Well Stephen, I am glad I got to meet you and I can say I got a heck of a knife from you. I showed it to my wife and she just said, "It's a knife?" She isnt into this stuff like we are. I showed it to a few friends and they loved it.
From talking to Judd Cleme this morning, I think he said we had about 140-150 paying participants. It was definately a great way to learn, meet people and stock up on supplies without paying shipping. I met CEdmonson also. I can tell you all that he is a standup guy with a passion for making knives. I left his house with a few bags of coal and a whole bunch of handle material. Thanks to AFC, Jim Batson, the instructors and vendors for being there.
I look forward to next years meet.
THanks

Thanks for the pictures.
That anvil flying through the air is so cool!
I'm surprised at all the coal fires going. I've been to several hammer-ins and have yet to see coal used. I forged my first knife with in a coal forge here at home.
I see Tim Hancock demonstrating. You guys were blessed. He is my hero.

Great pics Stephan! Sorry I couldn't make it this year, Batson's is always a good time.

Bruce, lota coal still used on this side of the country :)

You missed a good time Don.Tannehill is so beautiful this time of the year.Just guessing there must have been 500+ at the knife show Saturday evening. Great pics Stephan! That should say attempting the rope cut :) The young guns had their game on.Was great to see you all.

Yeah, I love my Camera's burst mode (Canon 10D) I got 8 GOOD shots of the anvil flying

Tim Hancock just about shamed me with how easy he did his thing.
When you see a guy grinding a blade just about perfectly while talking to people around the room and all the other distractions, well, that's just impressive.

It sucks that I had to bag that trip. I will be their next year ready to humiliate myself in the cutting comp!!:D
