Pictures from the Denver Snow Storm

Yeah, I know. Raton.
Sometimes I forget how long I've been hanging around this place. Since 2000, according to my profile. I don't even recall owning a computer that long ago...

Wow. 2002 for me. Seems longer than that.

It's funny how many "old friends" you can have on BF and not talk for a while.:)

.

It's 1:48a and it's still coming down like it was earlier today. My poor Accord is buried under a drift and I'm done shoveling the front porch off (for the 8th time). Good thing I went to the grocery and liquor store to stock up on goodies. Feel bad for those that didn't! I love this stuff (just wish I had a snowmobile)!!

Well... it's still snowing! I don't think it's supposed to start tapering off until this afternoon.

There's currently about 2 feet of snow on the ground where I live in Littleton, but there are some drifts around 3 to 4 feet high. It's pretty amazing!

The wind really drifts the snow around in my area, north of Colorado Springs. There is almost no snow on top of our cars or on the front deck, too windy. On the back deck the snow is drifted up to three feet deep. It is still snowing here.

A friend of my wife rushed to Denver International Airport to try and catch the last plane out yesterday morning. She got snowed in at the airport.

In Sterling (almost Nebraska NE CO) its getting really bad. Average snow level is about 2 feet, drifts are capping out at over 4 feet. And it is still snowing alot. Our roof has a snow overhang that is hanging over our porch by about 1.5 feet, its freaking wierd. Ive got Ice, 22 Mt Dew cans, poptarts, knives, and video games. Im set for a while :) Stay safe out there guys!

Sunny and mice here this morning. A bit of shoveling, not bad except for the large drift that always forms down the entire length of the sidewalk. :(

Concider yourselves lucky with all your snow. Looks like winters cancelled (again) around here. Another 7 months of lousy spring like the other recent years. Global warming isn't just happening, its ramping up at an exponential rate.

I took a bunch too:

We're completely trapped. Here's the rest of my pics, pretty amazing.

Man... you guy's are getting it good, just got off the phone with my brother -in-law he's pretty discouraged, he spent 500 bucks on trail permits for his snowmachine's and not even a dusting of snow here in Canada.

Any word on Colorado Springs? I really need to get my car from the shop tomorrow, if at all possible. How are the streets in town? Academy? Roads around the airport? At the least I just need to get it from the shop to a friend's house.

It's a ~very~ lightweight car with rear-wheel drive. Any slippery stuff at all, and it won't go.

Hey, if it's very lightweight, pick it up and carry it. :)
You know, like the Yugo: "Hard to start but easy to push."

Reminds me of when Al Bundy's friend bought a Yugo. "Does it run better than the Dodge?" "No, but it's easier to push home."

Anyway, my car is a Honda S2000  (think Miata), not a Yugo :barf: .

Maybe I can get some freakin' reindeer to pull it home...

-Bob

I remember when the Miata first came out, I knew a guy named Guy Miata. He was too big to fit in the car. But I guess the Honda is a leetle too big to pick up.

Are you ready for another?

Maybe; maybe not.

I got to leave work early and went grocery shopping for supplies.

I've been drinking tonight, ASSUMING that my office would be closed tomorrow...

BUT, if this schit does't get worse SOON, I'll be driving to work tomorrow morning with a hangover!:D :grumpy:

Snow, dammit, SNOW!
