Pictures of Broken Skull!

Got my orange Broken Skull today! My initial impression was, WOW this orange is crazy, 2nd impression was WOW thing was light! I gott admit that i was a lil bit skeptical about the weight, bit it really feel so light that it make my 2015 XHP American Lawman feel heavy

God damn! I must say that orane look in credibly striking against that black blade! Such a beauty!

Yeah I was really surprised by the color, it was much brighter than I expected. And the orange is almost neon-like in color. These pictures are as close as the actual color you see in person.

man, i disliked the billboard on the blade, but you gotta see and handle the real thing first. the moment i got it, these flaws seemed to have become trivial to me.

the pocket clip is where i would deduct some point from this knife. it's way too tight, much tighter than recon1/lawman's. it also has much less space as the space before the screw is rounded vs angular shaped of the lawman's clip. not a big deal for me since i carry my knife unclipped in the back pocket. you can fix it by loosen it tho.

I like the broken skull. Reminds me of a clip point blade on a slipjoint.

How does the new coating compare to the teflon? I'm not a fan of the letters either and if I get one I was gonna try and strip it. Old cold steel was easy to do ,I don't have any of the new ones with coating though.

It's the DLC coating, one of the strongest if not then strongest coating on the market. To me the new coating is one of the greatest selling points of all the new XHP folders. It's very high end looking and custom makers have been using this type of coating as well.
Good luck stripping it, it cannot be done chemically as the coating is almost impervious to any chemical and it's bonded with the steel. The only way is to use sandpaper and a lot of elbow grease.

That's what I was thinking. Old coating came off if the knife was in a wind gust.

I was also disappointed that the knife came with such words and letters, but knowing CS I was sure the product was going to be great. The white/grey one arrived today! Don't fool yourself, this is a neat knife. Comparison with my current EDC:

Strongest lockbacks, awesome ergos, less than 3.5oz, grippy handles and great clips, two high technology, modern and amazing steels...amazing colors too

ITwo of the greatests EDC knives of the decade from two of the greatest companies in the business...both well under 100 bucks!

And as usual, shaving sharp, centered and ready to go!

I like the looks a lot It'd look much nicer with a proper stonewash/satin finish, though!
