Pictures of Broken Skull!

Great pics! I'm in for an Orange and Blue one. I hate the billboard writing, but love the overall profile, weight, materials and price point!

I scored a pink one, not my first choice of colors, but the only choice left for 45.99. I am waiting for it to show up on Monday, I hope I am man enough to edc a pink knife.

I want one, but I didn't want one bad enough to get a pink one, even at $46. If they had still had the blue in stock, definitely, probably woulda grabbed a white one if that one had been available, but pink or orange? No go for me.

I've been carrying this for my road trip this past week and i can't tell you how awesome the knife is! It pretty much disappears in my pocket(to the point i have to look for it to make sure it's still there). I also love how long the blade is without too much curve and belly so i have a long cutting surface. I even did some light pounding on a branch to take out some knots that's sticking out, no problem at all!

Here are some more pictures. BTW, feel free to checkout my instagram @insta9ves: https://www.instagram.com/insta9ves/

Perfect sized blade, handle material and colors....... No stonewashed, or satin blades  You got to be #$@*& kidding! That mall ninja "Broken Skull" logo has to go too. I know why you called it Broken Skull. I think I broke my skull banging my head against the wall in frustration. Oh well. More money saved I guess..............:thumbdn:

i wont pass judgements so quickly. like i said, you gotta see there real thing first to appreciate it. those minuses seems trivial when you look at the benefits. if you are really hung up on those writings and the coatings, maybe CS is not for you.

Other companies are coming out with a lot of "mall ninja"-ish knife recently too, by that definition. This term seems to be way overused by people here who tries to express opinion in a condescending way. it's akin to judging people by their skin color or what they wear.

Is the logo and text etched into the coating only or deeper into the blade too? Or is it a separate printed layer?

I have 40+ Cold Steel products. I think it is a little too late for Cold Steel to "not be for me".
I have had some of their "coated" models, that I purchased at significant discounts, but I gifted them to family members before they started showing wear (chipping).
Cold Steel's stone wash looks very good, resists wear and tear, and I thought was extremely popular.
Their bead blast is ok on the XL models that I will never actually use, or subject to excessive humidity.
I still have an XL Recon that I am trying to find a home for. I would buy a Mini-Recon, and American Lawman tomorrow if they were offered in an uncoated versions. I understand the new blade coating is more durable than the older coating, but the pocket clip and the back lock are still "painted". I wonder why they don't offer both satin, and black coated models simultaneously, like almost every other company? Weird.
As far as the logos go, it is a knife, not an advertising billboard. Fail.

I don't have the ability to post pics, but I just received my tan Broken Skull today, and IMO it's an impressive knife. The only thing I don't care for is the pocket clip, but the knife is so thin and light, I would most likely simply carry it down inside of the pocket like a normal pocket knife. I don't see it as becoming my main EDC, but it will certainly see some good use.

Oh, and BTW, Steve Austin's name on the knife is not prominent.

I received mine on Saturday and I really like it, the size and weight are what I like most. I already have the lone star the broken skull is based on, but I don't carry it much because of the weight. The broken skull addresses the weight problem perfectly, plus it feels more secure in grip because of the g10 and jimping.

I could only find the pink version at a less than $50.00 deal, so I rite dyed mine with black dye and ended up with a purplish colored knife. I boiled the scales for an hour in dye, but it didn't penetrate very well. I still like the new purple better than pink.

Mine finally arrived yesterday. Apologies for the poorly lit phone pics:

With the two small folders I've been carrying lately:

Since I don't have a Buck 110 or a Lone Star Hunter, a Schrade LB7 will have to do:

And a spur-of-the-moment clip I shot while I was in the backyard earlier today, attacking some light vegetation (apologies again for poor video quality):

After seeing these all side by side, it further cements the fact that I made the right choice of color.

I wanna strip it and maybe dye the handle darker but this is one good knife for the 60 I paid here second hand new in box.
