Hey everyone! This page is for showing off custom knives (folders and fixed blades) and any personalized features that deviate from the factory original. What are called "factory customs" also qualify to be in this thread.. I started this thread because of a passion I have for detailing knives. I've posted some of my works on this thread, I plan to do a D2 flipper and fixed blade as my next two projects. If you like my work please add me as a friend and I will update you on new project blades I start.
Here are a couple of my submissions to kick this thread off
THESE KNIVES ARE UP FOR SALE IN THE EXCHANGE SECTION! FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!

The SCHF10 (video) is my best work so far, but i know I'm capable of much better. I guess I am just a perfectionist like that.:p

etched, engraved . . . knife art work

You wish . . .
didn't the other guys tell you not to encourage me this way ? !

This little Buck I modified by shorting the blade between a positive car battery post and the chassis of the car, damsel in distress rescue etc., . . . put a nice divot in the edge . . . I decided fairly soon after that I liked it better as it was before the mod so I ground the edge until the divot disappeared.

Blade too long ? Just want a fancy box knife instead ?

Ever find yourself channeling Lynn Thompson ? Can’t wait for him to get his new concept into production (the Lucky One ((has only one blade instead of the first Lucky which came with two blades))) . . . so . . . want to make a blade do a disappearing act all together ?
Enjoyed it so much I did it twice. One is an elegant EDC seat belt cutter; the other an EDC steak knife . . . I can only afford very small steaks.

Thinned blade by about 50% ; made it into a civilized EDC

The top knife in photo bellow, a Manix in S110V. The mod was . . . wait for it . . .
I put a sharp edge on it using the same factory grind angle it came with. I know . . . a radical concept . . . going entirely contrary to the original factory edge concept of “dull is beautiful”. This was my only mod failure to date. Even though it was hair whittling and or toothy it still failed to be an adequate cutter and found its self winging its way back to its creator. I wish, now, that I had ignored the factory grind angle and just did what I usually do when faced with sucky knife performance : Grind the living day lights out of it until it is much thinner and shallower edge angle. Lesson learned : never assume the factory knows best.

Don’t have a Razel ? Want a Razel ? No problem.

Thinned the blade from 5 freaking millimeters down to 2.2 mm.

There are more . . . I grow weary . . . I sleep now. (~ quote from the movie The Lost Skeleton of Cadavera)

Here is my Mini A-100 that a friend customized. He made the lime green scales for me, and I added a green Pete Gray Monster thumb disk.

My Coyote model on top with sheep horn handles. My Ranchero model on bottom with camel bone. Both engraved by my friend "Tapadero". The Ranchero's engraving includes a brand.

One of the first knives ever done. A cold steel voyager.... Very rudimentary and basic design. The script on the bottom is Dwarvish Runes and it reads "The Axes Of The Dwarfs" Only J.R Tolkien fans know what this is all about

SCRADE SCHF10 CUSTOM DETAILED *finest work so far*

I like the ironic juxtaposition of "MOLON LABE" on something so ornate. The exact opposite of what Spartan culture was all about.

You do nice work. After doing all the engraving, do you use the knife? or is it just a show piece to be admired?

Thank you, the nice thing about this knife is its is an absolute work horse. With a (full tang) 1/4 inch spine and 14.6oz total weight it is the best survival and bushcraft knife under $50. That being said it uses a 8Cr13MoV high carbon stainless steel which is a descent economic steel. I've rounded the gimping with a file as i found the corners a bit too aggressive. I haven't used the knife in the field at all since doing the work to it. Im selling the knife so i can start working on more high end knives, but since i dont have a sellers membership on bladeforums i dont want to break any rules so i cant divulge any details as to where i have it posted or for how much. Sorry

Who would like me to get a sellers membership and sell these kinds of knives exclusively on bladeforums? I feel like there would be a substantial market for such knife art work.. what do you guys think?
