Pictures of GSO Colors please?

I think Ellie said in another thread that they were keeping pre-orders to 1/4th or 1/3th of the knives produced (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong). So, if that is the case with the starters as well, you should be in good shape. I still wouldn't waste a lot of time to get the order in once the letter goes out announcing they're for sale though - especially if you're wanting a certain handle/sheath combination. Yesterday with the Necker II release I noticed several handles sold out very quickly.
That's good news. And yes, I noticed that too with the Necker II. Even the camo is no longer available.

I always mess up on the scale colors! They are natural brown canvas for sure!
Not your fault bro. I just realized it says "natural brown canvas" on S!K website. I am more into flashlights previously and my understanding is that when manufacturers claimed their lights are anodized "natural", the colors are usually a little greenish to grey.

Guy or Ellie will have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think natural, natural brown and brown canvas are all the same thing. In one form or another that is available for every knife.

They are the same. We used to just call it brown canvas micarta but it created a problem because every batch comes out a little different. They are not dyed at all, that is the natural canvas and it just happens to come out brown. The producers do everything thing exact same way and every batch still comes out a little different. We decided to rebrand it a bit by calling them natural brown, so people would realize that we aren't in control of what sort of brown we have.

I have several S!K GSOs. I was concerned that the G10 on my 3.5 CPM20CV was going to be too slippery, but just processed an entire mule deer with it last week, and was pleasantly surprised.

We intentionally avoid making the G10 super slippery. Obviously, the material doesn't have the same little pockets as the canvas handles, but we aren't setting anyone up to lose their grip. Our G10 is almost a little more grippy when wet.

Yep, we are making a lot of extras beyond the preorders. But holy cow things have been selling out fast. We expected the Necker IIs to be in stock for a week, at least a couple days.

I should have ordered... I was waiting for this to come back in stock FOREVER. Was trying to decide on handle.

Any idea how long until they're back in stock again?

No idea. But with S! it will be very difficult for them to keep up with demand. There's just too many people who want one in each hand! So it will most likely be a while before they're "in stock" for people to just go order one and get it shipped say next day.

I give them props they're busting ass to get it that way.

If you are referring to the necker-2 Ellie said "a couple of weeks" for factory 2nds...I will likely try and pick one of those up, They just popped at the wrong time for me, despite the insane price...

Is it me or are all pictures of the Survive! knives are the old spec blades? I'm looking at the hardware and I know the new blades have the hex screws. For the love of god, someone please post a picture of the new spec GSO 4.1. I just want to compare the finger groove.

You are fired up for the 4.1! This blade still has not started production, so there is no physical model to display or compare. Try these on for size:

From the website:
Working with over two years of user feedback on this model, 2015 is bringing some very subtle but exciting changes to the popular SURVIVE! GSO-4.1. We've deepened the finger pocket just a bit and enhanced the handle profile contouring for improved retention and control over the knife. The handle has been lengthened slightly for greater comfort and to increase the user compatibility range. Lastly, we are moving from a skeletonized tang to a solid tang on the GSO-4.1.

Lastly, preorders are closing on October 31, so if you do want to place an order, get on that!

Edit to add one more comparison courtesy of our very own ni1s. Maybe if you sweet talk him he could lay the old on top of the new or compare in another way for you :)

Yes, I see the note now about a couple of weeks.

I should have been ready to order, but had a last minute second guess on my handle of choice. Thought I'd have a little more time before they sold out. Rookie mistake.

I'll just have to be on top of it when the 2nds are released.

I agree, the price is insanely good.

Love the blk/red g10. That's what I got for my starter 3.5 for my edc. You just can't go wrong with them colors :)

That sage wood is kick ass too! I'm gonna have to look at some leather for my babies.
