Pictures of Kershaw knives

sweet, so kershaws damascus will make a good light user? thanks.

I have not taken mine past slicing newspaper, but I have heard of some using the damascus leek and damascus shallot for EDC. The layered steels are no slouch, and it has an interesting cut geometry (or w/e it's called  )

I think you'd have to sharpen it a little more often than the sandvic steels in the brother knife, but otherwise, mine is quite solid.

Interesting damascus story:

Our neighbor, who is in his 80's, bravely fought in WW2. When his squadron came to oversee the Japanese to help rebuild the cities/community work/make sure everything's in order after the war was over, he and his fellow soldiers bought some authentic damascus samurai swords for a killer price and brought them back to the US. An interpreter explained how valuable those swords were, and the work and process that went into every one of them.

Sadly, when he had kids, he sold them for fear that they would hurt themselves on the blades. He sold them over 40 years ago.

When I showed him my damamscus shallot, and the uniqueness of the blade, that sparked his memory and he told me that story. He had no idea that that method was still used, and he thought it disappeared into private collections decades ago.

Cool story. Reminds me of a web page I came across recently (though I cannot attest to its historical accuracy):

"Bill Moran introduced the first Damascus blade to the knife collecting world at the Knifemakers Guild show in 1973. There were others working with this "new" material at the time as well and after a hammer in Lumpkin, GA where it was demonstrated, Daryl Meier returned to Carbondale and began his life long research into the mysteries of this process."

Holy! Firebert, you have instilled a "really really want" in me. Awesome scales!

Could you please post a picture with all of those knives on that background with the blades in the pic too so that I can use it as my desktop?

The blades are standing with their tips in a board. I have a crop that shows the board, but the tips are still not shown.

Mate these damascus knives look really nice!
How is the blade quality, and do you know something about the rockwell hardness by chance ?

Blade quality is top notch, but Rc hardness is (IIRC) pretty hard to find out since it is so many layers of steel. Many users who EDC a damascus blade have no problems.
