Pictures of Knives on Rocks

Hey what knife is that?
Stormbreaker. :)

I made it out of 1/4" thick O1 steel, back in 2011. Differentially hardened with quench coming about halfway up the blade (bit more than an edge quench).
Sadly, due to Photobucket doing what they did, the work in progress thread from back then is rather useless...but the knife has continued to be useful all this time.

In the flood-level event of 2015, it did help break the storm, in a sense:

We went out there specifically due to the flood warnings.
Used Stormbreaker to cut all the poles for the shelter.
The shelter enabled us to split all the wood and get the dry wood exposed to be able to quickly set up the fire, and get it going. :)

Once the shelter was up my brother used his pull saw to make the exposed part less pokey. Initially they could have taken an eye out if we weren't careful. :D

Is that an Izula with a Tracker style blade profile? Maybe just the glove covering the back half of the edge...

In 2016, there was a Becker winter camp challenge.
During on part of it, I decided I would baton down a tree to make a walking stick, but was freezing cold, it wasn't working out, and I began wailing on the D'Eskabar like a complete idiot.

So, time to make it into a new knife. :)

Worked out pretty well. It was now the D'Eskatracker.

Last year though, I decided it would probably be a more useful knife if I reground it yet again.

So now it morphed into the...D'Eskaremora

There it sits beside the BK7 that it won for me through the saga of the camp challenge.

Everything in that picture make sense, if viewed from a certain point of view. :D

Honestly, that’s really cool! I might try that mod someday! Yours turned out really good. I’ve been curious about how that blade shape would work on such a short blade.
