I gathered up my gear (see my Maxpedition Devil Dog review also) and headed up to Petit Jean State Park in Central Arkansas this morning. Right before I left, I started getting light headed, and really felt bad. Figured it would clear up, so put the top down on the convertible and headed to the trails. When I go there I was clearly having problems, not sure whats up as I still feel like crap. So, I stayed close to the exit vehicle, but snapped a few shots for the forum here:

Too bad you had to cut short due to illness. However, it was probably the right decision. At least you managed to get a couple of good views and some nice scenery!

I was thinking today that was the difference between being 43 than when I was 23. Back then I would have hauled out into that valley no matter how bad I felt. Today, I just took it easy and took pictures from on top of the mountain.

Experience is a great thing.

Few more.

Some really nice pictures, bigcozy. Making the right decision, as you did, is the kind of thing that prevents people from suddenly being in a survival situation.

Hope you feel better. Looking forward to some pictures on the next adventure.

BigCozy, thanks for taking the photos they are nice. I think you should get your blodd pressure checked, might be high bp; or , I hope not, something of a harbinger of greater concern like heart attack or diabetes. Keep tabs on yourself and if you still feel bad during the next day or so, head to your doctor. No joke, guys drop dead all the time because we're 'too manly' to be concerned about the 'blips' in our daily health...I should talk...

Appreciate the concern, still feel bad - maybe not bad but certainly not right. I keep up with my blood pressure, my significant other (I feel to old to say girlfriend) is a OBGYN, so she watches me pretty close. I run every day and play racquetball tournaments fairly often, I am in good condition, in fact I am considered to overdo it a lot when it comes to working out. I usually never get anything, and I think sometimes when I get a bug it doesnn't grab me really hard, hence the "don't feel right but can still function".
