Hello Everyone, I finally got got my shop in shape where I can do some work without any major difficulties. First of all I would like to thank the generous people on this forum that share their ideas that allow people like me to be able to build the stuff you see in my shop. Second, I share the shop with a 93 jeep wrangle, so most of my tools are on wheels and can be pushed to the front of the shop so as to park the jeep.
Here is the front of the shop with everything rolled into place:

Here is a closer view of my KMG, dust collector, large drill press and tool box:

This is my "Fogg" style forge and forced air blower:

A closer look at the blower that can be pulled out for ease of lighting:

My heat treat oven sharing the same table as the forge for space savings:

More to come.

To continue on, here is my 100lb, 1901 Fisher:

This is my work bench. It's kind of narrow to allow room to get inand out of the car, but it works fine:

Storage under the bench, drawers on wheels:

That's it for now. I did fire up the forge for the first time this weekend and gave my 15 year old son some lessons in basic blacksmithing. It was a lot of fun for both of us.

Hey Mark
That looks like a great setup you have there. I might have to throw some steel in my suitcase the next time I'm heading to your neck of the woods.:)

All the best
Paul Murphy

Hey Paul,

Good to see you survived St Paddy's Day festivities! Just book an extra day next time your down, I've got plenty of steel.

Nice looking shop, you really should include some pics of the YJ :D

That's a lot of equipment you've managed to shoehorn into a small space. Way to go!!

Before I got married and got a shop, I had my tools in my two car garage on one side so I could park my car on the other. I had a roommate, but luckily he had a truck that was too long for the garage and had to park outside. So I spent a couple of afternoons really cleaning up the shop and getting it organized. After it was done, I was PROUD. So then a day or two later, I come home and open the garage, and there is ANOTHER CAR parked in there!?! All my stuff (in MY house, MY garage mind you) was crammed up against the wall with some of it on the BACK PORCH! GRRRRR!!!:mad: Not happy at all. And the SOB was getting great rent. It's a good thing he was a friend or I would have tossed his arse into the street. Thankfully he moved out of town not long after that and I got my shop space back :grumpy:

Looks really nice Mark! I've seen benches with roll-away drawers like that in the wood mags. I've got a couple HEAVY duty ones that roll under a couple of my benches. (one has about 500# of steel in it :D ).

Looks like you've got a painted floor... I wish I did!

You can tell you've put a lot of thought into your lay-out... well done! :)

Thanks guys, I've been working hard the last three weeks to get things cleaned up and setup so I can do some work. Hopefully I can keep it clean, I find my work goes faster that way.

sulsaMatt, nice jeep! I like the jack mounted on the hood, I might have to try that one.

Dang Mark! Now I'm embarrassed to have you over to my shop. That's one nice clean setup.

Looks like we're going to need another thread to show off everyones Jeeps. I've got a 94 YJ that's all setup for running around Moab.

Rick

The shop is usally a bit more cluttered, but I'm between projects at the moment. Just started to re-handle a knife for a buddy and strated a small patch knife for myself. Should be messy here soon!

Nick, the floor is painted, but I bought the house that way. Makes for easy clean up though.

Rick, I'll try and find a pic of my jeep, it's nice, but no Moab job.
