Went on a walk behind my house yesterday and took some photos. On Sunday evening we recieved some intense wind, and it was pretty freaky. A lot of trees in the areas fell over, etc.

This pine broke on the trunk about 2/3 of it fell right next to the walking path. I'm glad it didn't fall on it, as I wouldn't want to do the work to clear roughly 80 ft of timber. But now I have another chopping block to play w/ later...















 
Oh man. I can smell the fatwood from here!! :p

That was cool. Yeah! that would be an ideal opportunity to practice some shelter building.
 
WOW - Can you imagine sleeping out in the woods during that storm and hearing some of those trees come down?


It just sucks that they wouldn't have made any noise since no one was there to hear it ;)
