I hear lots of jokes both with blacks and whites (as well as yellows if I may say so) here in Romania. Should I understand it's a no-no in the USA? :confused:
 
Dialex, people are free here to tell jokes. I just think that people tend to be more careful in public forum where there are many different types of people who may be sensitive to different things. I a country like Romania where the great majority of people come from one background, there is probably less sensitivity to what others may think because people in such an environment have not had to deal with others who are different, or at least the people who are different have never had enough power to make their presence felt.
 
dialex - I agree with Anthony. Humor is a very subjective thing. It has been my intent to make Kliffy the brunt of the joke in his adventures, as I did in this case. However, intentions and the execution of that intent can have mixed results, again as in this case. I walked a thin line and in at least one person's mind, I crossed it. It really does not matter what America's humor environment might be. I created this humor enviroment and it was not my intent to demean anyone but Kilffy and Marty. If a reader thinks I demeaned them, or I demeaned a group of which they are a representative, then I missed my mark, and I learn from in it and try to do better in the future. In other words, Anthony's point is well taken.
 
this all, of course, begs the question....which one of you has the steel head? (you, Kliff or the fish?) :D :p :footinmou
 
Daniel Koster - The steel head would of course be mine. Kliffy's head is what we in a Alaska call a creamer, or a spawned out salmon that has turned to mush. :D
