Never know might get to test out a becker knife in the near future. This guy showed up on my trail cameras last month, along with 15 others, there is fresh logging behind my land driving the hogs to my natural spring.

I smell a lot of bacon in your future. ( and slow smoked pulled pork, ribs, loins). Sorry, it's been a cold winter and can't wait to breakout the weber smokey mountain....

The 870, or facsimile should work and, if in the right hands, there shouldn't be a whole lot of finishing off to do. However, a pistol of just about any caliber should accomplish that task - a .22 comes to mind. Then, and only then, a BK 11, 5 and 15, in that order. I suppose one could probably work a BK 9 in there somewhere though the 9 may be unnecessary. Fun perhaps, but unnecessary.

Hunters, trappers, pioneers, frontiersmen and their ilk got by with but one knife I am told; taming the wild without super steels, internet or forums - amazing!

.22 will bounce off a hog's head like a golf ball on concrete. Won't even penetrate the fat shield on the shoulders. Minimum pig pistol I would take is a .357 or .45.
