piggy backing belts

They are very handy, but also pretty pricey! I want to get another one eventually, but for now, my assortment of soft platens works and is much less expensive! I had one before, but sold it with my machine back in 2015. The current owner uses it still and used it on his Forged in Fire episode going against Ben Abbott.

I have another project on the go now, just rang my brother who works at a tyre factory, they make fan belts as well. He reckons he can get ribbed belts slit to any width, he will be getting me some 2"ones in January, i reckon 16" dia should be near enough, do you recall exact dimensions, I am going to save some pop cans or get a bit of old bike frame and cast a few rollers, then trim them up in the lathe.

I have as many workshop projects as flipping knife projects.

That sounds like me - enjoy making knives, but enjoy making tools just as much
Its a wonderful hobby Ken, I have a motor to swap over the holidays and I thought of casting a bearing block and having a five foot shaft on the old motor and mounting four or five buffing wheels on it.

I cant help it. LOL

Last night i flipping nearly bought a bag of crushed insects to make a dye for bone, so many exciting areas of research which can all be applied practically.
