Piggyback set-your advice required

I'm thinking of doing a piggyback set with an orange/black SARGE 7 and either a SAR 3 or SAR 4 (same handle). Does anyone have some comparison pics to help with my decision? I'm thinking that the 4 might be a touch big and it might be like carrying two medium knives.
Anyone got any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

I don't have any pictures, but I'm almost sure the SAR3 would be better with the 7 as long as you're comfortable with its smaller handle. I do agree that having the 4 would just be like carrying two medium knives. Even though the 4 is shorter, it's still pretty beefy for its size.

I don't have any pictures either, but I definitely agree with the smart man above me.

The SAR-3 would be a lighter & more useful companion blade. You'll have the SARGE-7 for heavy duty work and the SAR-3 for finer tasks, which is what the SAR-3 does best.

Another thing to consider is how the SAR-4 has the same size handle as the 7 and is quite handle heavy. If you angle the SAR-4 sheath, it will weigh down the handle side of the sheath a bit and possibly throw off the balance of the setup. I'm sure it can be done, but I personally would much rather the SAR-3.

I currently have a B11/B4 piggyback setup and once I get my B10 LE and SAR sheaths, I will be piggybacking my BAD to my B10 and my SAR to my DF or DF LE. As I'm sure you can tell, I really love having a 3"-4" blade piggybacked to my Res-C choppers. I will post pics of the SAR-3 setup once I have my sheaths.

I posted this a while back under 7/3 piggyback perfection. The SAR3 is the way to go. The SAR4 is just to much knife.

Thanks all. I think my mind is made to go with a 7/3 combo. Now to find me the right SAR 3...

One more consideration might be the scrapavore in orange. It would make for a lighter combo, albeit maybe not quite as cool. ;)

FTR's combo is off the hook, though...

Definitely agree here that the SAR3 would be the best bet for the SARGE!!! It's size and shape would make it an outstanding companion knife. One of the big things I always look at is weight vs style of the sheath, and of coarse the intended use.

FYI here is a pic of my piggyback's done for me by Steelnut.
I look forward to seeing yours when they are completed.

Cheers
Steven:)

I would go with a 3 the 4 is pretty big.

Never a HACK Bear Cub though, those things are horrible.
Get the Magnum Bear Cub it is better and I will help out by taking that nasty little bear cub off anyone's hand to be a nice guy :)

Nothing to stop me getting a SAR4 as well I guess, just to have...except money and my wife finding out.
