Sounds like there might be a whole bunch with no date code.

Why are they selling high? Why are any of them selling high?

Maybe, like many things, mostly hype.

I guess mine is a cheap one because it does have a date code. I think the current price is based on the original "There were only about 400 sold in the states". I will always know were two are because a guy I work with and I got ours the same day off the bay. We paid $48.50 for the knife and including shipping $57.15.
