The Pikuni is on schedule unless something drastic happens. We just approved the Sheath ala River City Sheaths, Mike Sastre. Mike is our third kydex maker and to be frank he’s Da Man. Great work Mike. Mike will also be doing any custom work for the Pikuni and other REKAT products.
Now for the bad news Talonite will not happen until around December someone you know who you are (my lips are sealed) sucked the Talonite well dry.
Next up is D-2 Sifus and Carvinore Cubs then the Savant.

That’s All Folks

Jim, see the thread titled Comming Soon From REKAT for Pikuni info. (Nope, its not a great big folder!)

Great news! Thanks Bob.

I have my Pikuni on order; can't wait 'til ... what... late October? ... for delivery. SCHWEET!

Congrats to Mike Sastre of River City Sheaths for the future thermoform sheath work. Mike makes a mean sheath - he is da man!

December is just around the corner, and may be the prices on Talonite will come down, too

I've had some people ask me about the sheath, so I'll do my best to describe it. First of all, it'll be built like other REKAT products - good to go with hard use - but still have a "quiet elegance" with the Carbon Fiber Concealex to go along with the Rob Simonich design. Because the Pikuni is a neck/utility/self defense piece, we've adapted my Drawpoint design for neck and belt wear. There will be a minimal amount of material covering the handle to allow for good grip acquisition and speed, yet enough for excellent retention even if you're involved in a little "rough and tumble". The belt clip is removeable and reversible, so you can get the side of carry and edge orientation that suits your style or hang it from your neck with the provided soft cord. For most of you, these two carry options will do, but other extras like fitted IWB loops with Pull-the-Dot snaps (true Drawpoint) and custom sized stainless steel ball chain will be available through me. Hope this answers all your questions.

Mike

Sound cool Mike, cant wait to see them! The extra carry options from you will make the sheath a sweet package.

"Hi! This is Ferris, I can't come to the door now, I'm sick in bed!"

Rock, you will really like the Pikuni - I have one of Rob's in D-2 & it is one of the nicest neckknives to come down the road in a while - the size is just right, its thin enough so it doesn't print under a shirt but still thick enough that it fills the hand & gives a solid grip. Blade shape is great for all-around use & thumb ramp & slight guard at bottom give good purchase when exerting pressure on the blade. If REKAT keeps to Rob's design as I know they will it is a winner - big time! like the Talon has been!
Based on REKAT's other products it will be worth the wait.

Bill

Oh, I'm pretty certain it wil be worth the wait, Bill.

Hopefully I'm not coming across as impatient; it's just that there was the initial "the Pikuni is on schedule unless something drastic happens," which was very early in the waiting period. Now we're getting near (IIRC) the month that they should be finished, and I was just wondering. I'm really looking forward to getting the D-2M in my grubby paws, especially after reading Rob's opinions on it.

I'm hoping that they will already be in the mail before then. At least the D-2M version. The understanding that I had was that the D-2M Pikuni would be deliverable by late October. So... well... Hmmm... when is that NYC show?

I'll just shut up now.

To the best of my knowledge, it's Nov. 10-12.
Anybody verify? I don't have any magazines w/ me here.
Thx-

As far as I know, we are still on schedule, when this was posted we were shooting for 60 days, that puts it late October.

Thanks Rob, that's what I thought, and what I was hoping to hear.
