My step-father had assorted stuff (knives, bayonets, firearms, crossbows, etc.) that I am now going through. In with some edged weapons ranging from the Civil War to WWII, I found a Camillus Pilot Survival Knife. Is there anyway to date it?

Thanks for your help.

are there any markings on any of the sides of the hex pommell?? if so what are they?

There are no markings on the sides.
The bottom of the hex has what looks like some sort of flower head and the remnants of gray paint.

hmmmm...if you can get a pic, please post or I can help you get one posted if you emailed one to me...

The Pilot Survival knife with a 5" blade made by Camillus are marked as follows:
1962-1967 stamped on the blade
1967-late 1980's stamped on the pommel with the date of manufacture
with the month and year
Late 1980's through the present stamped on the blade with the
current Camillus stamping with a large "C" and "S" (CamilluS)
