What knife in your collection folder or fixed would you want to get pimped ? Who would you get to do it and what would you have done?

Cool question. I have had a ton of knives pimped, mostly by STR, and I have a few in the works right now. My current project is a ZT0300 that is currently at Kingdom Armory for stone-washing and will be going to Phillip Dobbins for an orange G10 front scale. When it is finished it will have a stone-washed blade and lock side and the orange G10 scale. It will be set up to go clipless with a leather pocket sheath and a nice orange and black U812 lanyard with a Fuzzy Edge orange micarta/ black spacer bead.

Something I've wanted to do for a long time, but never seemed to have the cash for:

I think I'd have Reese Weiland rehandle my Microtech LCC D/A with some pearl scales, brush the Titanium bolsters and possibly anodize them, and file-work the back liner. I'm now considering have Tom Krein high-hollow it to the top edge, as well.

Just a dream, for now.

I have a few small folders with synthetic material scales that I'd like replaced with nice wood scales. I made some bloodwood scales for a SAK which turned out nice but was more work than I anticipated.

Perfect timing. I just sent Reese Weiland my CQC-7. Reese is going to make a wider blade, with CPM154, add a Satin finish and thumbstuds. That's my ideal CQC-7 blade. :)

I want a bolstered 7b with a higher grind also. G10 scales in green or gray. The classic 7b! keepem sharp

That sounds great.
I'd like to have my 7B pimped to have a Ti frame lock, and a nice, high, flat grind (so it would actually cut things... :p ).

No need, my Tora Highland is already pimp'd:

I am boring: I want my Vic soldier pimped with pocket clip and wood handles with lanayard / keyring hole.

I wouldn't mind having a titanium frame lock my Terzuola Slip-it, if that is even possible.

The Terzzy is the knife that took a Seb out of my pocket.

Every single one of them. (Though maybe not the ZT0500.)

Usually it's just new handles, but sometimes I'll go with a regrind or modified blade finish.

I've come across some really nicely pimped blades on here. I wonder if this is done to increase the value or is it just done for personal preference.

i have two.

i would love to get my R.A.M pimped, with a G&G clip, firebert scales, and a custom s30v blade.

i would also love to see my OD-1 pimped with a TI-Framelock, carbon fiber scale, and a damascus blade.

Emerson CQC-13

If i had the cash;

Mokume bolsters
Burl scales
Damascus backspacer
Scandi-grind.

one day..........:o

:)

I have a good few pimped knives im my collection, mostly Emersons and Spydercos but I have ZTs and one or two others as well.

The most common thing to get done is new scales or new scales with bolsters and new back spacers.
The next step would usually be a regrind à la Tom Krein or Richard J. etc. If you want it kicked
up another notch then you're looking at frame locks and one piece scale and spacer mods.

I wouldn't bother pimpin'. I'd save my funds and get a custom. But that's just me . . .

thx - cpr

I'm a self pimper.

My Kershaw Leek was a groomsman's gift from my brother's wedding and it has my initials and the date engraved on it. Therefore, I don't like to use it much for rough tasks. If I could pimp it and store it away I'd have someone make the handle out of pure platinum. :)
